Lesson 2 - Storm Model
Our model begins by showing what happens as the sun strikes the ground. The ground is not all the same color, nor is the sunlight always hitting at the same angle. In some areas the sunlight is reflected, in other areas the sunlight is absorbed. When the sunlight is reflected, the ground remains cold. This makes the air above that ground cold as well. When the sunlight is absorbed, it causes the ground to warm. This warm ground warms the air above it.
