Can I Redo an Assignment?
Generally, most assignments can be redone. You are encouraged to work on an assignment until you have a score that is satisfactory to both you and your teacher. Mrs. Ostrowski and Mr. Bingaman are satisfied with ratings of "proficient" or better. You may set higher standards for yourself. If an assignment does not meet these standards they should be redone until you have learned to complete them satisfactorily.
I did poorly on an assignment and my grade report says "Please redo this assignment". What do I do?
"Please redo assignment" means that you are expected to do the assignment again because you have not met the learning standard. Lab activities, readings, and Brain Building Broadcasts are eligible to be redone. To "redo" an assignment, it means to correct errors and resubmit it for assessment.
For Schoology assignments: Assignments done in Schoology will be automatically graded to provide immediate feedback. You can redo these assignments up to 3 times, before the due date, in order to obtain a satisfactory score.
For paper assignments: You should make these corrections on the original page if possible, or attach them to the original if more space is needed. Corrections should be done in a different color ink than the original, and the word "Redo" should be written prominently at the top of the page in the new color. Turn this assignment back in to the teacher to be reassessed. Remember that your grade can only increase if you demonstrate meeting the learning goals of the assignment.

- Do not wait for this assignment to appear on your grade report. Electronic assignments may still be redone after the due date and the teacher has entered scores from Schoology onto the grade report. Students must inform the teacher by email that the assignment has been redone so the teacher knows to reassess it. The teacher would be unaware the assessment has been redone unless the student provides email notification.
- You may still redo the assignment if you cannot obtain a satisfactory score after 3 attempts; however, you must meet with your teacher to process why you are having difficulty with the assignment.

I got a "Proficient" rating on an assignment, can I redo it to get a "Mastery"?
Yes, you may always redo an assignment until you have achieved the level that is satisfactory to you. Follow the same procedures as above to have the assignment reassessed.
I did not get a satisfactory score on a final assessment. How do I redo the test?
If you have received an unsatisfactory grade you will need to follow the instructions shared in class for retaking the assessment.
I redid the assignment, how does this affect my grade?
Your grade will be updated so that it always has the highest rating you have received. Redoing an assignment can never bring your grade down, nor will it be averaged in with older, lower scores. The rating in the grade book will always reflect your best achievement. There will be a footnote in the grade book that indicates if you attempted to redo an assignment and if the score increased or stayed the same.
I redid the assignment and my grade did not change. What do I do now?
You may redo an assignment an unlimited number of times before the end date. The exception is quizzes and final assessments only have 1 opportunity to be redone. If you are having trouble determining what you did wrong, you should arrange to get help from your teacher after school.
